The Redmi 6A is a really affordable budget phone that does not offer much but considering the price, there isn’t much to complain about . Priced at just Rs 6000 at India and Rs 12500 at Nepal, this phone is the phone to beat at this price range.
Redmi 6A Design and Display
In terms of design the Redmi 6A feels kind of fine when holding in your hands with metal finishing at the rear of the phone. The rest of the body is all plastic which shouln’t come as a surprise with this price range.
The phone offers a fashionable 18:9 screen but of course you wont get a bezel less display at this range. The display offers HD+ resolution meaning that you’ll get 295 pixels per inch. Its worth to note that there are phone that offer worse display quality in same price range.
The phone weighs around 145 gm and 8.3mm thick which is easy to live with. The power button is at the right side of the phone and is within the reach. On the left, there are two separate trays for a nano sim and the other for another Nano-SIM and also a separate microSD card. The headphone jack is at the top and the micro USB at the bottom. The speaker is positioned at the lower end of the phone, so ringtones and alert tones can be muffled when you are not holding the phone. Although there are phones with fingerprint receiver these days on budget phones too, Xiaomi simply didn’t had its priorities on it for this particular phone.
Batterylife .
The phone is equipped with 3000mah battery. So considering other specs of the phone, it will suely to last a full day even on moderately heavy usage. On downside a full charge from zero took us nearly three hours.
Camera
The phone has 13 MP rear camera with aperture f 2.2. Don’t make the high number fool you. During our testing the phone was able to take decent photos which is okay for sharing on social medias. However it wont take stunnig photos. The time to focus speed of the camera is a bit slow, but it’s manageable.
The phone has 5MP front camera, and again it wont take great selfies but it definitely isn’t the worst.
Performance
The Mediatek Helio A22 (MT6762) processor is nothing to brag about. The phone has two versions 2GB RAM and 16 GB storage and the other is 3GB RAM with 32 GB storage. This will enable you to run most of the apps, but it may just take a little more time to load than you would expect. You won’t be able to play high end games but casual low to medium graphics game will work fine.
We suggest you to go for the 32 GB version as the 16GB will run out really quickly.
The Redmi 6A comes with Android 8.1 with Xiaomi MIUI interface over it. It looks good and different than other phones on the market.
