Miss Nepal 2019 is finally here after Anushka Shrestha was crowned as the miss Nepal 2019 beating 24 contestants in the grand finale of the beauty pageant held at laboratory school Kirtipur on 9th May 2019. Miss Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada has handed over the crown to Anushka Shrestha. With Anushka, Riya basnet was crowned as miss Nepal earth, Meera Kashyapati as Miss Nepal international, Rose lama as miss Nepal supernatural and Pradipta Adhikari as miss Nepal universe. Various other subtitles were also awarded to other contestants.
Pradipta Adhikari won the best miss athlete award as well as Miss talent 2019. Anushka won Miss Fascino, Nikita Karmacharya won beauty with purpose, Nisha Pathak won miss confident and Riya Basnet won miss popular choice.
Talking about Anushka Shrestha she is a 23-year-old commerce graduate who graduated from Australian Catholic University in Sydney with Executive Dean’s Commendation in 2017. She has worked within an international education sector as well as finance officer in Sydney. She has also recently won the award of Miss Nepal Oceania 2018 and then set to compete in miss Nepal 2019. Recently working at one of the largest financial institutions of Australia ie: commonwealth bank of Australia, she resigned from that job recently to participate in miss Nepal 2019.
She went to Sydney for pursuing her higher education from Kathmandu in 2014. At the age of 19, she was selected for an internship at the Vatican city and she started boosting her personal potential. She spent 3 months in Europe traveling to various cities such as Rome, Venice, Vatican, and Sicily. She was also fond of public speaking, watching crime thrillers and TV Dramas.
In the interviews, before being miss Nepal she said she’s felt surreal exciting nervous overwhelming all at the same time. She said that she’s hoping to represent Nepal in a miss world and resonate her beauty with a purpose to the world.
